Jeff's Green Blanket

This is a  painting of Jeff resting on his green blanket.

I still have a lot to learn about Photoshop. For example, there is a great deal of glare on this photo. I think it may be possible to remove it, but I'm not sure how to do it. Also, the yellow strips are really more of an ochre color, but they turned out quite yellow in the photograph.

Jeff looks happier here. And I love the colors behind him. I can't wait to see this in person!

He looks a little warmer, anyway!

Both Jeff's portraits are very good. The former is more painterly, with color palettes focused on a mood. This one is more photorealistic, focused on Jeff's comfort :)
But - repeat - both are great!

Maga, thank you so much - I appreciate and respect your thoughts and observations and am so glad to be able to visit your site to see your work.

The blanket and striped wallpaper are just fantasy, but it was fun to try using thin paint in layers.

I've been reading about photo and classical realism, and although it would take years to develop that skill, I'm very intrigued by the precise and controlled way of painting.
