September Challenge #7

For day #7, I wanted to try a different painting style. One of my very favorite artists, Julie Ford Oliver, uses an interesting technique that she has developed, called "fracturing." Her paintings are to die for. They are so full of color and movement. Every piece she creates is pure poetry.
Julie created some instructional videos on fracturing. This week, I viewed them and decided to try the fracturing technique during the 30 day challenge. I have to tell you, I just had a ball painting these cupcakes. I'm going to keep practicing until I can become proficient at this technique. Fracturing adds a whole new level of fun to painting!

Thank you, Jacklyn! This is a new style for me. I had so much fun painting with lots of color that I'd like to try it again!
I clicked on the thumbnail because of the vitality glowing out of it. What a lovely surprise to find your wonderful fracturing. Great job. Hope you do more.
Thank you, Julie. I spent some time "fracturing" this afternoon - great fun!
Thank you again for the great information.
That is a great painting. I plan to try Julie's tech. this winter.
Thank you, DLPBR! I'm interested to know how you like the technique. I've really had a good time with it. It's a little scary to fracture, but it's great fun once you do it!
Great little painting. The fracturing really adds to the lightness of it.
Beautiful, lively, really cool technique.
Beautiful cupcakes.
Thank you, Helen, Taryn, and Sharon! How are you guys holding up on the 30 day challenge? I'm staying up wa-a-a-y past my bedtime these days. It's a killer (but it's so much fun)!
